This very special episode of features one of Justin's good friends, Todd Bumgardner. This episode is special for so many reasons:
1. Todd is our first guest not located in New Jersey. Todd is the co-CEO of Beyond Strength Performance in Virginia and is the CEO of Strength Faction.
2. Todd just published a book called "Let The First Rep Suck: The Art of Unconditionally Positive Fitness Coaching." You can purchase Todd's book here: https://www.amazon.com/Let-First-Rep-Suck-Unconditionally/dp/0578615843/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=let+the+first+rep+suck&qid=1581971644&sr=8-1
3. The most important reason this episode is so special: all proceeds from the book sales are being donated directly to fund NBIA MPAN Research done by Children's National Hospital in Washington D.C.
Todd's spent the last year and a half training Ryan Alam, a great sixteen-year old fella from Stirling, Virginia.
Ryan has a rare degenerative brain condition called NBIA MPAN. There is no cure for the disease and it's so rare that there's no funding for research. Over the past year, Todd and Ryan's mother, Tuba, and a lot of good people have worked hard to raise money to get the research started.
However, this is only the beginning. A lot of money is still needed to fund the research that could save Ryan's life, and others afflicted with this disease.
To help support this cause, Todd's book can be purchased here: https://www.amazon.com/Let-First-Rep-Suck-Unconditionally/dp/0578615843/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=let+the+first+rep+suck&qid=1581971644&sr=8-1
Todd goes into detail about the book, what NBIA MPAN is and his relationship with Ryan, and more in this episode of the Stay Healthy New Jersey podcast.
